I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the novice remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
